A Night at the Movies - Saturday 25th March
We will be showing a film made in the early 2000's about the first motorised crossing of the USA.
Horatio Nelson Jackson, a 31 year old physician, joined a debate at a nearby table where the
opinion was strongly held that the automobile was only suitable for short trips in a small radius
around a spare parts depot, but otherwise was useless. Horatio disagreed, and wagered $50 that
he could drive from the west to east coasts in 3 months or less. First, he had to get a car. To see
how he went, roll up in your automobile between 6.30 and 7 p.m. Please bring a plate to share for
supper afterwards. The film runs for 1hr 46 minutes. Did he collect his $50?
