Wednesday 3rd NW Cuppa & Chat - These gatherings are held at the NW Section clubrooms starting at 1:30pm. Come along for a cuppa and enjoy the company of fellow members. Spare parts and the library will be open. Have a look you may find a spare part, or a book of interest.
Sunday 7th General meeting starting 11:00 am.
Followed by run to Spreyton Cider Co.

Wednesday 10th Committee Meeting
– Commencing at 6:00pm
Saturday 13th July -Ken Silver will again entertain club members with a variety of short films. NOTE date change. Bring a plate of supper to share. “Information for newer members, or those who haven’t attended a film evening before”. Ken shows his films on the old reel to reel projectors, good to see someone is keeping these old projectors working. Programme for the evening is as follows. 6:pm: - Clubrooms open, bring tea if you wish to have a chat. before the films start. 7:pm: - Films start, run for fifty minutes, ten-minute break, Rocco will run a couple of chook spins, then another set of films followed by supper. Saturday 20th July, Xmas in Winter at “Miena Community Centre”
The North West Section is organising a Xmas in Winter dinner Function, combining with the Miena Community Centre members, located at 55 Cider Gum Rd., Miena. Meal cost is $35, 6.00 pm for 6.30 pm start,
bar will be operating.
Accommodation: - All 13 rooms at the Central Highlands Lodge have been reserved for the VCCA, 4 of these rooms are family rooms for those members who may wish to share.
Phone 03 6259 8179 and mention you are from the VCCA, otherwise they will not accept your reservation.
Cost per room $145, includes continental breakfast.
Other accommodation in the Miena area includes the Great Lake Hotel 03 6236 4000, rooms from $140 and many BnB’s. Use Google.

Sunday 21st July, Waddamana visit
Collect packed lunch, at a cost of $12, prepared by the Community Centre, depart Lodge no later than 9.45 am, travel 29kms to Waddamana Power Station Museum, this includes 16kms of gravel road, so your choice of vehicle, classic or modern. Coffee van not in attendance for our visit, hence the need for packed lunch.
Please bring a thermos and cups for your drinks at Waddamana.

Getting there
NW members to meet at the VAN DIEMENS LAND CREAMERY CAFÉ, 10 Christmas Hills Rd., Elizabeth Town, at 11.45am for a light lunch. Depart at 1.00 pm, travel to Golden Valley where a visit has been arranged to view an assortment of cars, bikes and machinery.
Depart here at 3.00pm, travel 55kms to Miena.
Northern members discuss travel options with  Mike Cassidy.
Southern members see you at the Lodge for a beer later in the day.

Wednesday 9th Committee Meeting

20th October 2024 Gordon Fysh Memorial Day at Miena.

With the date for this event having been set, the planning for this event is basically completed. The actual Gordon Fysh will be held on Sunday the 20th at the Great Lake. This allows an opportunity to make a weekend away of it.
For Saturday 19th the Great Lake Lodge has been booked; they offer 13 rooms with 4 of these suitable for families, or share couples and by mentioning the VCCA each room will be discounted to $100, including a continental breakfast. For bookings the Lodge can be contacted on 6259 8179. If the lodge is fully booked, the options are the Great Lake Hotel and many BnB’s around Miena.
Following your evening meal at the Lodge, the Great Lake Community Centre will be holding their regular Bingo Evening should it be of interest to you, always a fun evening. For the day of the Gordon Fysh there is planned a small driving / skills test for the allocation of trophies in the Lodge Car Park followed by a finger food luncheon / presentation at the Community Centre.

Wednesday 23rd, Visit to Don River Railway. Join with the Devonport Men’s Probus Club at the Dell Luck Reserve on Forth Rd., Don, at 10 am for coffee and socialising. Visit includes an inspection of the workshop, model train, train ride and a sausage sizzle. Invitation open to all members of the VCCA and their friends. Enquiries to Laurie 0438 282 443.
